9 festive makeup trends to try this Christmas and New Year's Eve 2021
Sure, no make-up is one of the hottest trends of the year! But around Christmas we can safely forget the nude look and really let off steam with our eyeshadow palettes. Looks with a lot of glitter and bright lips are in now. Here are the most beautiful makeup looks!
1. Make-up look: pearl power
What works on the catwalk works at least as well for Christmas and New Year's: pearls in make-up! The small, self-adhesive accessories around the eyes or on the eyelid look particularly beautiful. Sure, the look is a bit crazy - but that's exactly why it's so much fun! Basically, the pearls can be placed on (or around) any eye look. You can of course also stick them on the bare eye - after all, they are already a statement in themselves.

2. Make-up look: Color Pop
Gigi Hadid demonstrates it once again: This year under the Christmas tree, a colorful statement like the one professional Patrick Ta made up for the model should definitely not be missing. This is how it works: Prime the movable lid with a natural, subtle eye shadow. Then grab a bright eye shadow (e.g. orange) and place it generously in the inner corner of the eye. Finally, apply mascara to your eyelashes – done!

3. Make-up look: Holy Red Lips
Red lipstick always works! But of course it looks particularly good on festive occasions and elegant robes. Extremely popular this Christmas and New Year: light nuances with a matt, velvety finish. Red lips are of course a statement in themselves, so the eye make-up is rather subtle. Spread some bronze-colored eye shadow all over the lid and apply mascara to the lashes. Bronzer is then used for the complexion, which is generously distributed directly under the cheekbones. Then apply a generous amount of highlighter over (!) the cheekbones and color in the lips with the velvety lipstick. Don't forget the lip liner beforehand so that the color doesn't run out!

4. Make-up look: Silver Queen
What would Christmas be without lots of silver? And now we wear that on our lids. For example in the form of a metallic eyeliner and large glitter particles. An eyeliner in metallic silver alone is a real eye-catcher! It is best to combine a natural color on the lips and brush the brows into shape with transparent gel.

5. Make-up look: Christmas cat eyes
A cat eye look like this simply flatters every eye! We reinforce the classic eyeliner with a small triangle in the corner of the eye - this makes the look much more intense. First apply bronze-colored eyeshadow to the entire lid. Then use an eyeshadow brush or your finger to apply a slightly darker shade of brown (with glitter pigments) to the outer corner of the eye (only on the movable lid). Then draw an eyeliner and let it fade out with a dovetail. Then apply a lot of mascara to the eyelashes and dab gold-colored highlighter on the inner corner of the eye. The rest of the make-up is rather subtle: apply some rouge to your cheeks, shape your eyebrows and dab a nude tone on your lips.

6. Make-up look: holiday fresh-up
Peach and pink tones are making a comeback - and are also ideal for the holidays. After all, softly tinted cheeks and lips not only go with a black evening outfit, they also look cute with hats. Important for the look: The complexion must be even. Therefore, first work a tinted care product or a foundation into the skin. Then trace the brows with a pencil and gently apply a mascara to the upper lashes. Then apply pink blush to cheeks and brush highlighter to high points of cheekbones and forehead. Finally apply pink gloss, done!

7. Make-up look: purple eyelids
Purple on the eyelids was already very popular in summer and that's why we're taking the trend into winter - literally at the New Year's Eve party. First apply foundation and concealer and set with powder. Then gently stroke the brows and apply purple, liquid shimmer eyeshadow to the lids. Apply a darker shade to the crease of the lid and blend with a plump brush. Finally apply the false eyelashes.

8. Make-up Look: Golden Glamor
If Christmas had a colour, it would be gold. Perfect, because there is no color that flatters the complexion better. For these reasons, gold make-up is also ideal for the holidays. It cuts a fine figure, especially on the lids or as highlights on the cheeks and lips. You can also put one on top and cover the entire lid with the gold-colored eye shadow. An eyeliner completes the glamor look. Then wash the eyelashes. As the icing on the cake, dab gold-colored highlighter on the cheeks, the bridge of the nose and the heart of the lips and the look is ready to party!

9. Make-up look: Smokey-Evening-Eyes
Of course, smokey eyes are a classic, but they also conjure up a femme fatale out of every woman in no time at all, which draws everyone's attention. What's more, you can never go wrong with them - just like with the little black dress - and you're well prepared for all the holidays from Christmas Eve to the New Year's Eve gala.
