Eyeliner by Adele: This is how you apply the iconic eyeliner
Would you also like to have an expressive look like the singer? Her current make-up artist Pat McGrath has now revealed how it works. For the beauty look on the cover of British Vogue, for example, she used Permagel eyeliner instead of a solid kajal pencil because it makes it easier to draw an accurate eyeliner. She applies this gel eyeliner very close to the outer lash line and carefully sketches the shape of a wing. Then she picks up a brush to draw and refine the desired shape. This lays the foundation for the Adele wing.
As soon as the eyeliner is in place, it is traced again. Liquid eyeliner is suitable for this, which is applied from the middle of the lid to the outer corner of the eye. Important for the signature look à la Adele: The lower part of the eyeliner wing should match the outer corner of the eye and form the iconic wing shape towards the top.

Adele's former make-up artist publishes eyeliner tutorial
Michael Ashton was also part of Adele's beauty team. He met the singer in 2007 and designed the eyeliner look together with her. Knowing how popular the hit singer's eyeliner is with fans, he created an eyeliner tutorial with Lisa Eldridge and posted the video on YouTube.
In the video, Michael Ashton, who was responsible for Adele's look for a full 13 years, explains how he went about it: "You start at the outer end of the lash line and work your way towards the middle. Then you draw a fine line from the inner corner of the eye to connect the two lines. Finally, draw the eyeliner wing towards the temple at an upward angle." He recommends a 45-degree angle for this: "If you pull it up, the line becomes sharper and the eye looks stretched and raised."
