On four Sundays in December, interested guests can experience unique dance performances in the former pharmacy in Kleinwelka, more precisely in the shop window.In addition to the dancing insert, the neighboring sister houses Kleinwelka are illuminated.The cultural project "moving pictures" has a deeper meaning: “Art is looking for new places and needs new entrances to the audience.With the dance performance series "Moving pictures" we would like to create low-threshold access to art, bring art into public space and establish contemporary dance in rural upper lusatia, "says project manager Jana Schmück to know.
For cultural revival
The artist and dancer Jana Schmück has the project in cooperation with Mike Salomon from Remise E.V.brought to life.The coache e.V.has been committed to repair and cultural revival of the building complex of the Herrnhut brotherhood since 2014.The parts of the building include the sister houses and the former pharmacy.
That awaits visitors
Three choreographies have already been presented to the public.Every 15-minute appearance is unique.In terms of content, the dance performances deal with the end of the year with a special time: it is about silence, reflection, beginning and end as well as light and dark.Jana Schmück works with different materials and also deals with the Christmas poems by Rainer Marika Rilke.The project is funded by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony.
On 26.December at 7 p.m. the last dance performance takes place in Kleinwelka.
