The same applies to other everyday situations with potential danger. If Alexa is networked with a motion detector, it activates e.g. B. when going to the toilet at night, the corridor lighting to increase safety. However, if their owner falls in the bathroom, an emergency call will not be made automatically.

To ensure that competent help is on site quickly in an emergency, it is not enough to know the Alexa telephone function. The person concerned must also know how to use it correctly. Alexa is therefore not a great help for forgetful people or people with dementia. At least relatives can be informed via the Alexa app if a motion detector at the door has been triggered or if the light or garden irrigation system has been switched off.
