The guests had to wait a long time, now it's finally starting again. The Count Palatine in Ludwigshafen-Gartenstadt, who always stood for hospitality and Palatinate cordiality, has opened its gates again. As usual, since September 1st, guests can expect a traditional kitchen based on natural products. All dishes are traditionally prepared, with preference given to locally available ingredients. All the sauces that accompany the handcrafted dishes are made and coordinated in-house. The chef dedicates his attention to each dish and is keen to ensure your satisfaction. The wine list is predominantly representative of the Palatinate, whose wineries have now gained international recognition. Enjoy one of the fine wines or the best beers from the Palatinate Bellheim brewery. The restaurant seats 50 and is equipped with highly effective air purification devices. The terrace area seats another 40. The Pfalzgraf café-restaurant was opened in 1965 and reflected the gastronomy of the time again. The combination of a café with a restaurant was popular in the 1960s and was successful for many years. An excellent range of cakes combined with a down-to-earth range of dishes were the basis for this. After a change of ownership, the culinary orientation of the restaurant changed. In the eighties, dishes from different countries - such as France, Italy, but also Germany - were offered, a trend that was popular at the time. A few years later and after further changes of ownership, a traditional Greek cuisine was established in the restaurant "Zum Pfalzgraf" and brought a high level of continuity - over almost two decades. The subsequent closure of the restaurant, which had been a popular inn in the garden city for almost 50 years, was accompanied with melancholy. The past time had left its mark on the premises of the restaurant, the did not allow a continuation. It had to be decided whether the “Count Palatine was over” or whether the restaurant should be brought back to life. The decision was made to continue the "Pfalzgraf" and the complete renovation of the entire ground floor of the property was not easy, which admittedly took some time. The guest room was completely redesigned and now offers an ambience between modern and traditional , an ambience to feel good.
