There is a lot of drama about our ski jumpers at the Olympic mixed competition in Beijing!
After the first round, silver medalist Katharina Althaus (25) was disqualified.
The reason is that your suit was too loose! According to DSV officials, however, she jumped in the same suit as when she won silver in the individual competition.
"The suit was too big for Katharina," confirmed women's national coach Maximilian Mechler (38) on ZDF. "
"I'm really angry, I'm disappointed," says Katharina Althaus about her disqualification. It's pretty painful. I'm sorry my name is on the list for the team."
"It was a first for us women in ski jumping," she adds. We were excited to compete in a second Olympic competition. This action by F# erased that. Women's ski jumping was annihilated. All of our names are on the list now, and we've been given the ass card. This devastates nations, funds and makes the sport generally unfair.”
So Germany was out of competition!
Horst Hüttel, the 53-year-old manager of the team, raged on ZDF: "We're angry." We all jumped in the same suits that the individuals did in the individual competition. It is confusing. This is utter nonsense. It is possible that something went wrong. This is totally unacceptable. We have to accept it, but we are amazed. In a team competition, F sharp cannot be measured differently than in a solo competition. This is how a sport is ruined!”

The German team Selina Freitag (20), Constantin Schmid (22), Althaus and Kаrl Geiger (28) were on course to win a medal with a second place finish, but Althaus was disqualified and finished ninth out of ten. Only the top eight nations advanced to the second round, ending the competition.
"More measurements are taken at the Olympics," says national coach Stefan Horngacher (52). That doesn't make any sense to me. It's starting to feel like a Punch and Judy show to me. This is no longer in the interest of sport. To get through you have to tremble and tremble. It's ridiculous and I'm not happy. Suits have been a problem all season. I'm confused and don't know what's going on. We had fantastic jumps and everyone was fantastic; You can't help but be disappointed.”
Instead of a sporting medal decision, there will be a material fight!
"I don't understand why three jumpers were disqualified," says finalist Karl Geiger on television. That's incredibly weird. "It's likely they were all wearing the same outfit."
Because: Sаrа Takanashi, a Japanese woman, and Dаnielа Irаschko-Stolz, an Austrian woman, were both sued. There was also a problem in the Norwegian team. However, their teams reached the semifinals.
"It's a farce," said the Austrian coach, Mario Stechert, on the hill to BILD.
"If the suit doesn't fit and the inspectors say it's a centimeter too big, then that's fine," said Austrian ski jumper Stefan Kraft (28) on ZDF. For us the controls before the second lap were much tighter and the controls were extremely difficult.
