Statue of Princess Diana: This secret message is in her outfit

For Princess Diana's 60th birthday on July 1, 2021, her two sons Prince William (39) and Prince Harry (36) gave their deceased mother a very special gift: a memorial statue will now be in the "Sunken Garden" of Kensington Palace remember her and her legacy. The fact that Diana is surrounded by three children is apparently intended to symbolize her varied humanitarian work. But the way Diana herself was portrayed also has a deeper meaning.

This photo inspired the two princes

As the direct image comparison shows, the statue appears to be wearing exactly the outfit that Diana was wearing in the photo of her Christmas card from 1993: the large belt, pencil skirt and pleated blouse combination therefore have a deeper meaning. Because they show a Diana who has just separated from husband Prince Charles and from now on wants to be seen as a single woman with her two sons.

And while the three children placed around Diana's statue don't show William and Harry, at least the pose is reminiscent of the beautiful mother-sons photo from back then. In a way, the two princes have immortalized themselves together with their mother. (lsc)
