For the release in April 2021, Outriders was in the top league in terms of player numbers. In the meantime, the loot shooter is bobbing along with an average of 600 Steam players active at the same time. There hasn't been much exciting news in recent months. But anyone who thinks that Outriders is as good as buried is wrong!
Square Enix has now introduced the huge, free content offensive »New Horizon«. And there are a lot of innovations that fans have been asking for for a long time. For example transmog, new endgame missions, changes to legendary loot and classes. And for 2022, the first major DLC is in the starting blocks. Endgame 2.0
The developers have rebuilt the endgame and made many important changes so that you can have a lot of fun with Outriders even at high levels . This includes the fact that expeditions no longer have a timer running. So far, the faster you complete an expedition, the better your rewards. However, this resulted in almost all characters being geared purely for damage per second. The new system should allow for much more freedom in class builds.
Four new expeditions are also being added to bring you new content. The rewards for completing these high tier missions have been extensively adjusted.

Legendary gear for free
To celebrate the big update, everyone who logs into Outriders by November 30th, 2021 will get a free piece of legendary armor in their inventory. That goes for both brand new players and those returning, by the way. It can take 24 hours for the armor to show up to you.
And there is good news about the legendary items on another front as well: In one of the new expeditions you can choose between three legendaries at the end instead of just getting a random one. And in Tiago's shop you can re-roll legendary offers (costs resources).

Transmog for everyone
Since the release, fans have been shouting from the corrugated iron roofs: a transmog system is needed! And now that wish is coming true. You can now give all weapons and armor the appearance of another item of the same type. So if you've found a pair of pants that has really great stats but doesn't go with your polished outfit at all, you simply select a cooler pair of pants and then give them the new status effects.
In the case of weapons, this even transfers the sound of one ratchet to the other. You unlock an item's appearance as soon as you find it - for all of your characters, not just the Outrider whose inventory the item is in. Transmog does not cost you any resources or in-game currency and can be done at any time. When do you think we'll see the first fashion show in Outriders?

Other important changes

The first DLC is coming! Also announced was the first major expansion called »Worldslayer«. There is not much information yet, except that the DLC will appear in 2022 and will bring new areas, stories, quests and more with it. How much the addon will cost is not yet known. And whether there will ever be an offline mode is also in the stars.
