Düsseldorf for decades seemed clear: Minnie Mouse wears a red dot dress and yellow pumps. For 30 years, however, Disneyland Paris has come up with something special. Minnie Mouse gets a make over. The reactions to this have, however, been overgrown.
The points remain, otherwise almost everything changes. Minnie Mouse gets a new outfit, the first picture of it has been released on Twitter by Disneyland Paris. Instead of the red dress with white dots Minnie will wear a blue trouser suit with dark blue "polka dots" in the future. The new look was designed by designer Stella McCartney. This is shown in a communication from Disneyland as a great Minnie fan.
"Minnie has always had a special place in my heart," McCartney is quoted in the communication. The Disney figure embodies happiness and authenticity. "it inspires people of all ages around the world," says McCartney, who also changed the color of the emblematic red hair loop and exchanged the yellow pumps for blue shoes.
Especially the new version of the blue dots on the outfit should make Minnie Mouse a & quot; symbol of progress for a new generation & quot;. The background of the makeover is the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, in which numerous events and special events will take place from March onwards. The collaboration with McCartney is also part of this campaign.
The reactions, especially in the social media, to the outfit are very perplexed. "just doesn't feel like the Minnie I grew up with," writes one user and another finds: "looks like a pajama! No fan ". Others like Minnie's new style. And prominent proponents also find themselves. Former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton comments on the picture on Twitter with the words: "très chic!"
For decades, the dotted dress had become Minnie & APOs; s trademark. She made her first appearance in 1928 in the black and white film "Steamboat Willie". Over the years, the figure wore different outfits again and again, but the red specimen clearly prevailed as a mark of recognition.
