Here is an overview of the most important dress codes in business with the do's and don'ts:

Day Informal / Business Attire / Tenue de Ville

Operation: business trip

Tip: It's about a business day that is spent outside of your own business premises and/ or with external partners/ customers.A dark suit (mostly dark gray, anthracite or dark blue) with a shirt and simple shoes is expected.The tie makes sense for a first meeting with new business customers.For industry and regional differences in dress code, you will find out beforehand from colleagues or in the customer environment.

That doesn't work at all: jeans or other leisure clothes.

Business (highly officially)

Operations: daily business at high management levels, business events

Fauxpas: too casual jeans, boat shoes or too colorful clothing.The word "Business" still indicates the framework in which you are located.

Casual

That doesn't work at all: sports clothing is not desired.Save your shorts for your beach holiday.

5. Immer schön klassischDer Stil bleibt weiter klassisch, auf nackte Haut und tiefe Ausschnitte sollte frau auch am Freitag verzichten.
6. Krawatte, nein dankeAuf die Krawatte können Männer am Freitag verzichten. Tragen Sie jedoch ein Button-Down-Hemd, damit der Kragen nicht schief aus dem Sakko schaut.
7. Achtung, No-Go!T-Shirts und Outdoor-Kleidung sind ein No-Go. Im Business-Umfeld ist ein Hemdkragen Pflicht.
